Background
Watt Infra aims to professionalise its organisation in order to better respond to the growing complexity of infrastructure projects. The need for a uniform way of working and greater process awareness among employees became increasingly urgent. Due to rapid growth and a wide variety of projects, there was a growing need for structure, clarity and a shared language within the organisation. This formed the basis for starting an improvement programme together with BPM Consult.
The organisation was using different ways of working and lacked a consistent approach to processes. This resulted in inefficiency, lack of clarity and variations in quality between projects. Employees lacked guidance in their daily work, and there was no shared frame of reference. Watt Infra therefore looked for a way to embed process-oriented working within the organisation, while also increasing awareness of its importance among all stakeholders.
WATT Wijzer
Together with BPM Consult, Watt Infra developed the ‘Watt Wijzer’, a practical tool that describes the desired way of working. This tool provides structure and makes processes transparent for all employees. The Watt Wijzer is built around recognisable project phases and includes concrete guidance for execution. Its visual design and accessible language make it widely applicable and easy to use in daily practice.
The implementation of the Watt Wijzer was supported by guidance and training. BPM Consult assisted in building support and developing process awareness. Employees were actively involved in both the design and use of the tool. Through interactive sessions and hands-on exercises, a sense of ownership was created and the new way of working was quickly embraced across the organisation.

Results
The ‘Watt Wijzer’ has resulted in a more consistent way of working across Watt Infra. Employees experience greater clarity and guidance in their work. The tool supports the delivery of consistent quality and makes it easier to evaluate and improve projects. The organisation now operates more efficiently, with a stronger focus on processes and results. This directly contributes to its professionalisation.
“The Watt Guide helps us to work in a structured way and to safeguard quality,” says a project manager at Watt Infra. “It is helpful that everyone now speaks the same language and knows what is expected of them. This makes collaboration easier and increases job satisfaction.” Clients also notice the difference in both approach and results.
Embedding
Watt Infra continues to invest in process-driven working. The ‘Watt Wijzer’ has now become an integral part of the internal training programme and onboarding of new employees. In addition, the tool is regularly reviewed and updated based on practical experience. This ensures that the way of working remains up to date and aligned with the changing demands of both the market and the organisation.
The collaboration with BPM Consult has led to a sustainable transformation within Watt Infra. The organisation now has a shared way of working that is embraced at all levels. This provides a solid foundation for continued growth and development. Watt Infra continues to build towards a future in which process-oriented working is second nature and contributes to successful infrastructure projects.
